No Spin Zone: or How to Tell the Truth Without Even Trying.
This just in! Today the Presidentfuhrer responded to several questions from the miniature poodles in the press core on the status of troop withdrawals from Iraq. He responded that the troops will not be removed until the "mission is completed".
Now for all of you whackos that look at this picture from May 2 2003 and note the flag colored sign behind his dimwittedness; first of all shame on you for paying attention to inconvenient details, but more importantly the word on the sign is "accomplished" not "completed."
I looked them up
Completed = To bring to a finish or an end.
Accomplished = To reach the end of; complete.
So there you have it; accomplished clearly means completed, but completed doesn't mean accomplished.
Furthermore
Accomplished = To succeed in doing; bring to pass.
So the sign clearly means that the mission has come to pass and in case you haven't noticed there is a mission going on right now in Iraq. It exists; it has come to pass. Those of you who are not paying attention may deny that "the freedom agenda" is happening, but as I said before you're whackos.
So the "mission" has been "brought to pass" but is not "completed." Duh! Any questions?

There's a funny thing a bout dubya. As a practising Canadian, I belong to the club of Dubya haters, and as one of my blogger friends put it, I think it best to just breathe and count down the days until his mandate is over. The funny thing is this: I only ever hear about or talk to people who can't stand the man, and yet he was elected. Twice. The same thing seems to be the case here in Alberta, where everyone you talk to despises Ralph Klein and yet he has had overwhelming majorities and has been premier of the province longer than anyone can even remember. (Personally I like Klein, so I'm of the what's-your-problem camp.)
Anyway, the point is, people say they hate a politician, or what he stands for, but then elect him anyway. Go figure.
Pirate, I think your experience with Bush haters is more a result of the wisdom of your choice of conversation partners. I know lots of people around here that think he's right on. Granted any time they speak I hear a parrot sound first. "Brawwk George Bush is great, George Bush is Great Brawwk."
But for the record I don't hate George Bush, I've never met him he may in fact help elderly folks across the street. I do find his fascist leaning policies dangerous and can't downshift enough to stop my head from hurting any time he speaks. I mean there's only so much stupidity one person can handle.
