There Goes the Sun Doo 'n doo doo
I have, of late, enjoyed a schedule that had me off most mornings and several weekdays. It allowed me to walk around the town to do my errands. There were some lovely iridescent trees set against the backdrop of evergreen. (I would probably rave a little more about the trees but I grew up in West central New England in the NW hills of Connecticut where northern and southern forests meet and on any given day in October it is the most beautiful place on earth. So this was more along the “yeah, it's kinda pretty” lines.)
Anyway, the Sun was bright and the days crisp and clean. Marvelous strolling weather. You'll notice, though, the use of the past tense. The Rain rolled in today with vague speculation about when it will end. I suspect it is because they believe it may not end in the forseeable future. Here in the Northwest the rain comes to stay for the winter. Days take on a steady beat, wake up in dark fog, go to work, lunch in the rain, get out of work in the dark; rinse, repeat. Here rinse becomes the operative term. It's hard to get excited about anything in the grey, but interior life becomes much brighter and more colorful by comparison.
