Democrats Start with a Bang!

Nancy Pelosi has committed to carrying on the traditions of the House of Representatives to insure a smooth transition. In this vain she has chosen the slogan "Nepotism, Corruption and Self Interest it's not for just Republicans anymore."

There is an old truism - power corrupts - but this is a new twist. This may be the first time it has happened in a week; ironically before the power itself has actually technically been acquired. By choosing Jack Murtha as her second instead of her rival Steny Hoyer, and passing over Jane Harman for a less senior committee member Alcee Hastings due to personal dislike, Nancy Pelosi is announcing loud and clear "I can be just as sleazy as Tom Delay!"

She pledged to make this upcoming congress the most ethical in history. But like so many things in in Washington D.C. it depends on what you definition of "most" is.
