Oh the Shame of it All!!!

So my beloved Buffaloes yesterday made giant incandescent flaming asses of themselves by losing to a team that is perhaps two levels above high school. The Dan Hawkins Era has begun not with ebullience, but rather effluence. I thought it was bad not to be able to get the team ready to play rivals like Colorado State and Nebraska. Apparently it can get worse. Where have you gone Gary Barnett? Outside of the quest for the national title this game does not on its face carry any significance an to be honest no reasonable person even secretly hoped this team could rise to those heights but on another level this is a embarrassment for the program of Herculean proportions. To sell their fans that they had hired a coach that would bring them back to glory (one wonders how much farther you can go than 4 of the last 5 division titles) and have them lose at home to a division 1-aa team is unimaginable. But it happened, with the following consequences:

  1. I have lost my seat at the adult smack talking table and am relegated to the kiddie table of "ha! you lost too nanny nanny boo boo!"
  2. I must endure taunting quietly from such heretics as Colorado State and Nebraska fans, unless of course the buffs beat them then I can retort your team isn't even as good as a 1-aa team! (Witty no?)
  3. My beloved friend Turtle Boy was unfortunately and uncharacteristically prescient and I shall have to endure his deservedly superior airs until my beloved Gmen stomp his Foreskins. (If fate should be so cruel as to deny me that one little bit of recompense the Puck drops in earnest Oct 4th)

On a related note, the sublime Buffalo, Rachel Wacholder beat Elaine Youngs for the third consecutive week and finished behind only the Juggernaut in the individual standings. (We must find victories where we can.)

It's early. I'm sure you're still alive in the BCS. I mean, it's not like anyone ever goes undefeated, right?
