I find it a little ironic that Epictetus (through Arrian Xenophon) spends so much time taking shots at Epicurus. One would argue that another persons philosophy falls squarely outside the circle of ones own choice. Epictetus would tells his students to examine the impression and dismiss it as false with equanimity and without passion as false. And not worry about it any longer. Instead he rails about how foolish and blasphemous Epicurus and his students are. Seriously, Dude, lighten up. I don't know...maybe be a little...oh I don't know...Stoic about it.
